Parents and children turned on Saturday April 6 to support the Family Movie Night held on Virgin Gorda to raise funds for families in need. The children viewed the movie ‘Inside Out’ which spoke about emotions and how to express them during a stressful life changing event. They also participated in several activities including making pinwheels which is this year’s symbol for child abuse awareness, face painting and puzzles. The event was organised by the Social Development Department in collaboration with several non-governmental organisations including Student Tutoring and Resource Center (STARC), Smudge Art Studio, LSL Bakery, and Rotaract Club of Virgin Gorda. Another Family Movie Night is scheduled to be held on Tortola at Captain Mulligans in Nanny Cay on April 27 at 6:00 p.m. Interested persons can telephone 468-3650 for more information.
