Plans for the city of Road Town will be presented to the public at a Community Meeting on Tuesday, 30th May 2023, at the Road Town Market Square at 5:30 p.m. The community meeting will also include plans for the control of vending as well as give venders, businesses and residents the opportunity to voice their concerns.

Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Kye Rymer encouraged the public to attend and participate in this vital part of the community building process that is taking place. He said, “There’s work to be done in every community, this work should be carried out in a collaborative manner. I encourage the public to come out and have their voices heard so that we can focus on the key areas that we can improve so that we can continue working to have a capital that we can all be proud of.” 

The Director of the Public Works Department, Mr. Jeremy Hodge will conduct the presentation of the plans including remarks by the Deputy Premier, Honourable Lorna Smith MBE, Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Kye Rymer, Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Vincent Wheatley, Junior Minister for Culture and Tourism Honourable Luce Hodge-Smith, and City Manager, Mrs. Janice Braithwaite-Edwards.

The Ministry of Communications and Works continues to ensure the continued development and maintenance of public infrastructure in keeping with international standards so that public utilities are reliable and affordable in support of an enhanced community life for every resident and visitor in the Virgin Islands.
