Acting Director of the Water and Sewerage Department, Mr. Brian Davis is reassuring residents along the Blackburn Highway from Baugher’s Bay to Paraquita Bay; and parts of Road Town that efforts are being made to restore their water supply.

Mr. Davis said water interruption in the areas was as a result of power outages from Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30.  He added that the outages placed limitations in the production capacity of water.

Mr. Davis said, “In addition, a major leak has developed en route to Road Town, and this has in turn delayed the restoring of water to the Road Town and surrounding areas today, Monday, May 1.   Operators are currently assessing the situation in efforts to restore this very vital commodity.  Updates will be forthcoming as restoration efforts progress.”

The Department of Water and Sewerage seeks to ensure the provision of a continuous supply of potable water to all residents of the Virgin Islands.  Persons can contact the department’s telephone numbers, 468-9213/468-9860 East; 499-2924/499-0500 Road Town and Central; and 499-2620 West.
