The Government of the Virgin Islands continues to make progress with its road rehabilitation programme that includes resurfacing, installing edge of roads, curb walls and slipper drains on all four major islands.

On Wednesday, November 16, a contract was signed, between the Government of the Virgin Islands and Quality Construction Company, for the sum of $992,822.28 to alleviate any drainage problems and to stabilise and rehabilitate road works in the Horse Path and the Huntum’s Ghut area.

Minister for Communications and Works, Honourable Mark Vanterpool stated that Quality Construction has successfully completed similar projects for the Government, and he is confident that they will continue to deliver high quality standards.

Honourable Vanterpool said, “This Government remains committed to improving the structural integrity of the Territory’s road network, to ensure the safety of the motoring public.”

Quantity Surveyor for Quality Construction Company, Mr. Orandé Jones thanked the Government for having confidence in the work of the company, and said it was a great milestone and honour for the company to have been considered for a second project.

This is the 12thcontract signing for the road works rehabilitation programme funded by the Caribbean Development Bank Loan, which includes resurfacing, installing edge of roads, curb walls and slipper drains on Tortola, Anegada, Virgin Gorda and Jost Van Dyke.
