The Ministry of communications and Works is carrying out several road projects this week, including expansions on water and sewerage mains.

Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Communications and Works, Mr. Anthony McMaster said water expansion works will commence on Wednesday, August 31, to install over 3,500 feet of six (6) inch water mains that will continue in Brewer's Bay from lower Luck Hill to end at Nichols' Bar. He said the works are already 40 percent complete, and the project is expected to be completed in two weeks.

Rehabilitation and reinstatement work will also continue from Wednesday, August 31 at 9:00 p.m. to Monday, September 5 at 6:00 a.m. on the Sea Cows Bay road between Pieces of Eight to the Ebenezer Primary School. This section of road will be partially closed for three days to facilitate the works.

The Permanent Secretary said road upgrades will begin in Chalwell Estate to Windy Hill this weekend, and that work is expected to be carried out between 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

Mr. McMaster added, “Preparation work will begin on Saturday, September 3, for the National Sewerage Project in East End. This work includes milling the existing road from Paraquita Bay to Long Swamp. Once this is complete works to install the Force main from the Paraquita Bay Sewerage Plant will continue.”

The completion of the National Sewerage Programme will give residents access to a modern sewage collection and treatment system and will put an end to the current methods of sewerage waste disposal with the implementation of an environmentally friendly solution.

Motorists are advised to drive with extreme caution in these areas and to follow all road signs.

The Ministry of Communications and Works thanks the public for their patience, as they continue to build the infrastructure of the Territory.
