The Government of the Virgin Islands is advising the public, especially electoral candidates and organising groups of electoral candidates, that the requirements to apply for development planning permission to display political campaign signs have been waived for the 2015 general election campaigning period.
The Government of the Virgin Islands has extended its invitation for tenders for the Reconstruction of Road, Slope Stabilisation and Drainage Works at Windy Hill.
Director of Communications, Mrs. Arliene T. Penn is reminding prospective tenderers that the scope of works include the construction of two, three meter high retaining walls for slope stabilisation, the construction of reinforced concrete road pavement, a combination of reinforced concrete box culverts and three open box drains which are proposed for the collection of water runoff.
In accordance with the Elections Act 1994 and amendments, the Deputy Supervisor of Elections shall assist the Supervisor of Elections in the discharge of her functions and perform such duties or exercise such powers as the Supervisor of Elections may direct.
Residents can log on to www.bvi.gov.vg and locate the Government tab on the left hand of the screen. Once the drop down list appears residents should scroll down to the Elections tab then select the 2015 Preliminary Voter’s List.

The Ministry of Health and Social Development is asking businesses that do not possess a trade license to function as a pharmacy to refrain from importing and selling prescription only medications.
Members of the Caribbean Shipping Association and other relevant business persons will for the next three days deliberate and share information on developing shipping in the region.
The 14th annual Caribbean Shipping Executives Conference commenced today and will run from May 11 to 13. The event is being hosted by the BVI Ports Authority and over one hundred and twenty delegates are in attendance.
The Supervisor of Elections is informing the public that in accordance with Section 18 (6) of the Elections Act 1994 and Amendments, the Preliminary Voters’ List is available for inspection for a period of four days from May 11 to 14.
