We are happy to report that following the approval of the National Security Council, the remaining 10 inmates have returned safely to the Territory, today September 6, to continue serving their sentences at Her Majesty’s Prison Balsam Ghut following their temporary relocation to St. Lucia due to damage sustained to the prison facility caused by the passage of Hurricane Irma in 2017.

I have joined the Honourable Premier, Dr. D. Orlando Smith, on several occasions, as we completed negotiations with local contractors, to carry out rehabilitation works to our roads and bridges infrastructure.
Following the approval of the National Security Council, a number of inmates have returned to the Territory, today 16 August, to continue their sentences in HM Prison Balsam Ghut following their temporary relocation to St. Lucia following the damage to the facility caused by Hurricane Irma last year.
