The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) is seeking volunteers to assist as Emergency Shelter Managers within the network of public and privately managed emergency shelter facilities.

Improved partnership and a stronger ability to respond to major storms is expected after a table-top hurricane exercise brought together key members of the National Emergency Operations Centre and members of the Royal Navy Caribbean Task Force.

The Royal Navy patrol ship, HMS Medway will visit Tortola from October 22 as part of the United Kingdom’s Caribbean Task Group’s mission to prepare for and respond to disasters in the region.

Good day and GOD's blessings to you all. Yesterday, I shared with you that there was a tropical system developing in the Virgin Islands. Today, I have been advised by the Department of Disaster Management team that this system has developed further and is now Tropical Storm Grace.

Acting Director of the Department of Disaster Management (DDM),  Mr. Jasen Penn has said that the Virgin Islands should stay vigilant in its monitoring of conditions as the coming months are expected to bring continuous weather disturbances to the Atlantic basin.
