Candidates in the 2019 General Election are notified that Nomination Day is set for February 14 and the publishing of Declaration Notices of Interest in the Virgin Islands Official Gazette, must be submitted to the Cabinet Office by 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 12. 

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association British Islands and Mediterranean Region (CPA BIMR) will conduct an Election Observation Mission (EOM) to the British Virgin Islands 2019.

Every person who claims that his/her name, address or occupation has been wrongfully stated or omitted from the Preliminary List shall give notice to the Supervisor of Elections.

The Office of the Supervisor of Elections is informing political parties and candidates that Nomination Day will now be held on Thursday, February 14 and not on Monday, February 11 as was previously announced. 

The DS200 tabulators and the e-poll books are now on island and will be used in the 2019 General Election. 

A more efficiently run General Election is anticipated following the passage of the Elections (Amendment) Act, 2019.

His Excellency the Governor Mr. Augustus J. U. Jaspert issued the Writs of Election on January 31 authorising the next steps for the 2019 General Election.

The public is notified of the appointment of Returning Officers for the upcoming General Elections scheduled for February 25.

Candidates contesting the upcoming general elections are urged to declare their interests before Nomination Day on February 11.
