The self-propelled modular trailer used for transporting the new Wartsila generators from Port Purcell to the Pockwood Pond Power Station is currently not working and in need of repair.

The Ministry of Communications and Works is reminding the public that the James Walter Francis Drive, Waterfront Drive, and Sir Francis Drake Highway between the BVI Ports Authority in Port Purcell and BVIEC Power Station in Pockwood Pond will be closed on Tuesday, August 23 and Thursday, August 25 from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. This is to facilitate the transport of the new Wartsila generators.

Madam Speaker, the Phase V Power Development Project being undertaken by the British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation BVIEC, is well underway and there is definitely more ‘light’ at the end of the tunnel.

The public is notified that the Paul P. Wattley Road between Joe’s Hill Road and George’s Hollow is closed for four weeks during the month of April.
