All reporting British Virgin Islands Financial Institutions (BVIFIs) are advised that the BVI Financial Account Reporting System (BVIFARS) will not be available during the month of January 2017, as the system will be under maintenance.

The Territory's role in the world economy was recently highlighted at the Global Tax Transparency Summit at the House of Commons of the UK Parliament.

As we begin the last month of the year, it is essential that I update you on the state our Territory, our economy and our public finances.

The International Tax Authority of the Government of the Virgin Islands is advising the public that Guidance Notes for the Common Reporting Standards (CRS) have been updated.

The Government of the British Virgin Islands (BVI) plans to develop an investment policy that will help to attract value-added services to the local economy.

Madam Speaker, I crave your indulgence as I rise to  update this Honourable House  on the progress being made to strengthen  the systems in the Treasury Department and in particular  the financial reporting  by the Government of the Virgin Islands.  

The Government of the Virgin Islands is advising residents of the Virgin Gorda community that Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr. the Honourable D. Orlando Smith, OBE will hold office hours on Wednesday, July 13.... 

The public is notified that the BVI Forward population survey conducted by the Financial Services Implementation Unit (FSIU) comes to a close this week. Persons, who have not already taken the brief survey, are asked to do so by 5:00 p.m. on June 24.

The Financial Services Implementation Unit (FSIU) inviting the public to tune in to the latest edition of BVI Forward TV on Monday, June 6 on JTV, Channel 55 at 7:00  p.m.

Depositors of financial institutions in the Territory will be provided protection following the enactment of the Virgin Islands Deposit Insurance Act 2016.
