Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports Honourable Sharie de Castro has announced that HLSCC graduates—whose degrees are accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education will now be able to pursue the third year of a bachelor’s programme at the Richmond American University in London.

Madam Speaker, it is with great purpose and optimism that I rise today to provide an update on the strategic steps being taken by the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, in collaboration with the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC), to expand educational opportunities for the young people of these Virgin Islands.

On March 26, Chief Justice of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, His Lordship, the Honourable Justice Mario Michel and the Justice of Appeal, the Honourable Justice Vasheist Kokaram met with students and Faculty of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College.  

Hundreds came together on Sunday, 2^nd March to witness a grand celebration by local and locally connected artistes’ in a concert to honour the life of the Virgin Islands first Chief Minister, Hamilton Lavity Stoutt.

T-shirts are now on sale for the Heroes Live Forever: The H. Lavity Stoutt Concert. T-shirts are on sale for $25  and can be purchase at Premier’s Office, First Floor of the Cutlass Building from until to 4:30 p.m. today, 28^th February or 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, 1st March.

 The Government of the Virgin Islands will be honouring the legacy of former Chief Minister and National Hero, the late H. Lavity Stoutt in a concert on March 2.

In a groundbreaking collaboration to provide students with a comprehensive platform to explore higher education opportunities and connect with representatives from 21 colleges and universities worldwide, the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) and the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) have joined forces to host the Annual College Fair, set to take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Multipurpose Sports Complex.
