The 27^th annual memorial celebration of visionary leader H. Lavity Stoutt is being observed on Monday, March 7 will take place at the Cappoon’s Bay Burial Ground at 10:00 a.m.

Focus will be given to the year that resulted in a new direction in the development of the Virgin Islands during the ceremony in observation of the visionary leader, the late Honourable Hamilton Lavity Stoutt.

The Financial Services Institute at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) will be renamed the HLSCC Robert Mathavious Institute of Financial Services in honour of financial services stalwart, Dr. Robert Mathavious, OBE.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Agriculture, Dr. Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley has deemed the appointment of Dr. Richard Georges as the seventh President of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College, as a vision realised.

The public is invited to tune in to the Presidential Investiture of the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College’s President, Dr. Richard Georges on Thursday, January 28 at 10:00 a.m.

The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) is now under new leadership with the recent appointment of a new Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors and the appointment of a President and Vice President.

Minister for Education, Culture, Youth Affairs, Fisheries and Culture, Dr. the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley, said the late Honourable H. Lavity Stoutt was a great leader who was focused on the development of the people of the Virgin Islands.

Mister Speaker, placing Virgin Islanders at the centre of development activities through expanding access to educational opportunities continues to be a central focus of this Government’s agenda. The H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) continues to expand its offerings through various Memoranda of Understanding. Today I am pleased to give a statement on three recent programmes in which the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) has been engaged.

The Territory is being reminded that this year marks seventy years since legislative government was restored, as it prepares to observe the 25^th Anniversary of the passing of one of its greatest visionary leaders, the late Honourable Hamilton Lavity Stoutt.

Residents are invited to participate in the 25th annual celebration to pay homage to the Territory’s first Chief Minister, the late Honourable H. Lavity Stoutt on March 2.
