Government is moving proactively to initiate the changes necessary to facilitate more substance-based economic activity in the Territory as part of the BVI Forward campaign.

The public is notified that the revised work permit fee structure will take effect on July 1. 

Please be advised that revised work permit fee structure will be implemented, effective July 1, 2017.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour, Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering has announced that implementation of the new work permit fees is delayed indefinitely.

Madame Speaker, after maintaining work permit fees at the same level since 1981, the BVI Government has amended the work permit fee structure to one that is progressive and based on income.

Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr. the Honourable Kedrick Pickering has announced that new work permit fees will come into effect on May 15.

The public is invited to read the ‘Labour Force Survey’ brochure via the Government of the Virgin Islands online. 

The public is advised that the Virgin Gorda office of the Labour Department will be closed on Monday, April 10, until 2:00 p.m. to accommodate staff training.

The public is invited to participate in the testing of a revised process for renewal of work permits issued by the Labour Department. 

The Labour Department is in the final stages of preparation to begin testing a new process for the renewal of work permits.
