In an effort to revitalise and mobilise community organisations and individuals throughout the Territory, the Social Development Department will host a series of Community Mobilisation Workshops next week under the theme Mobilising Community Power, while building capacity within the Territory for social action and participation.
Clinicians were updated on the latest contraceptive technologies such as the implants, new oral contraceptive pills, and the new female condom (FC3), at a workshop organised by the Ministry of Health and Social Development.
Parents who are no longer in an intimate relationship will receive assistance on parenting in a cohesive manner through a series of sessions to be held from October 13 to November 5.
All residents of the Virgin Islands are encouraged to wear a purple article of clothing on Friday, October 16, as part of the Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities.
The Territory’s men will be at the forefront advocating non- violence and healthier relationships, in the ‘Men Against Violence’ campaign during this month’s Domestic Violence Awareness observance.
Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Ronnie Skelton has signed an agreement to provide access to thousands of preferred healthcare providers overseas including members within the Territory.

The Environmental Health Division is issuing a notice to food establishments on Virgin Gorda that do not have a backup water supply that they should temporarily close until water service is restored.
