British Virgin Islands’ residents and homeowners are being reminded that the improper drainage of wastewater on to public streets, roadways and ghuts constitutes a violation of the Public Health Act.
Minister for Natural Resources, Honourable Vincent Wheatley has announced that the Cane Garden Bay beach is safe for swimming and is ready for use by the public.

The public is notified that the Ministry of Health and Social Development has issued a travel advisory to countries including São Paulo, Brazil; Israel, Philippines and the Ukraine as a result of an on ongoing measles outbreak.

The public including private garbage haulers are notified that in an effort to control indiscriminate dumping of waste at the incinerator at Pockwood Pond, access to the site will not be allowed beyond 4:00 p.m. daily.

Assistant Manager at the Department of Waste Management, Mr. Neville Allen has said that access to the Pockwood Pond incinerator will be limited to 4:00 p.m. daily in an effort to control the practice of indiscriminate dumping.
