New protocols implemented by the Department of Waste Management continues to result in early notifications, which led to swift action to extinguish an early morning blaze at the Pockwood Pond Dumpsite.
Director of Waste Management, Mr. Marcus Solomon has said that his department has received the incinerator’s transfer arms as it makes steady strides in bringing the facility at Pockwood Pond back online.
The Department of Waste Management will be meeting with residents of District 3 on Thursday November 16 to re-introduce the Litter Abatement Programme.
The first meeting will be held at 11:00 a.m. for the business community while the second session will cater to the public at 6:00 p.m. at the Valarie O. Thomas Community Centre.
The community is encouraged to attend and provide feedback as the department seeks a way forward.
