The Minister’s vision was to have a central point of contact for all information relating to the student population within the public school system (Virgin Islands School District) of the territory of the Virgin Islands. The Ministry and Department of Education’s focus was to change the way business was conducted in the public schools and to get parents more involved in the daily academic and extra-curricular activities of their children. PowerSchool is a centralized student information database that is accessible via any standard web browser.
The Virgin Islands Assistance Grants Programme, guided by the Assistance Grants Programme Policy, 2024 under the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs, and Sports, is designed to provide financial support to Virgin Islanders in the areas of education, sports, and the creative arts.
Please note that the grant is not intended to cover the full cost of an applicant’s request but is meant to facilitate and support it.
To provide financial assistance to individuals to enable the pursuit of tertiary level education both locally and abroad. To also reward the outstanding scholastic achievement of students at the secondary school level.
The Ministry of Education and Culture, in connection with the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College provides a technical vocational apprenticeship programme where students learn basic technical skills to apply within the job market.
